Personal Information We Collect

• Waitlist and contact details, such as email address, city, role, restaurant name, claim details, and any note you choose to submit.
• Restaurant listing information, such as public business name, location, website, social links, dietary tags, verification status, and owner or manager contact details if submitted by a representative.
• Technical information, such as IP address, browser or device details, request timestamps, server logs, service worker activity, and basic security or spam-prevention signals.
• Approximate or precise location only when your browser asks for permission and you choose to allow location lookup. The current map flow uses that location in your browser to show nearby map context and does not require you to submit it.

How We Use Information

• To operate Bite5, handle early-access requests, respond to restaurant submissions, and manage claim or correction requests.
• To curate, verify, improve, and maintain restaurant and dietary-intent listings.
• To send service messages, launch updates, claim follow-ups, and relevant Bite5 communications where allowed by law.
• To protect the service from spam, abuse, security incidents, and inaccurate submissions.
• To meet legal, accounting, compliance, and dispute-resolution obligations.

Consent and Marketing Messages

We collect, use, and disclose personal information only for reasonable purposes and with consent where required. If you submit a waitlist, restaurant, or claim form, you consent to us using that information to respond and to send related Bite5 updates.

You can withdraw consent or unsubscribe from commercial electronic messages at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits. We will not use pre-checked boxes for express marketing consent.

Sharing and Service Providers

We may share information with service providers that help us host the website, store submissions, deliver email, maintain security, and run the product. These providers may process information outside Alberta or Canada, including in the United States or other jurisdictions.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a financing, sale, merger, or reorganization of ZalaStack Inc. or the Bite5 business.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including product operations, relationship management, legal compliance, security, and dispute handling. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

Safeguards

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No website, database, or transmission method is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

• You may request access to personal information we hold about you.
• You may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• You may ask us to delete information where we no longer need it for legitimate business or legal purposes.
• You may opt out of non-essential marketing messages while still receiving necessary service or transactional messages.
• You may deny or revoke browser location permission through your browser or device settings.

Children

Bite5 is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it or seek appropriate consent.

Cookies, Cache, and Analytics

Bite5 does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics on the public beta page. The site may use browser storage, cache, or a service worker to improve loading and offline behavior. If we add analytics, ads, retargeting, or payment tracking, we will update this policy first.
