Restaurant Listing Policy
Effective May 29, 2026
This Restaurant Listing and Verification Policy explains how Bite5, operated by ZalaStack Inc., handles restaurant records, dietary-intent tags, corrections, claim requests, and removals.
The short version: Bite5 can list factual restaurant information and dietary signals, but we do not copy protected content without permission, we do not imply endorsement without permission, and we keep unverified dietary information clearly limited.
Listing Sources
- Public factual information, such as business name, location, neighbourhood, website, public contact details, and category.
- Community or diner submissions that identify a restaurant as a possible fit for a dietary-intent filter.
- Restaurant owner, manager, staff, or authorized representative submissions.
- Bite5 review, calls, visits, menu checks, or other verification steps documented by ZalaStack Inc.
Content We Avoid Copying
- Third-party reviews, ratings, star scores, photos, menu descriptions, editorial articles, creator posts, or platform data unless we have permission, a compatible license, or another clear legal basis.
- Restaurant logos, brand assets, promotional photos, and menu files unless supplied by the restaurant, licensed, or used only in a legally permitted way.
- Google Maps, Google Places, or other platform content outside the permissions of the applicable platform terms or official API terms.
Dietary Tag Status
- Community signal: a possible fit from public or community information, not verified.
- Restaurant-reported: information supplied by a restaurant representative, not independently guaranteed by Bite5.
- Bite5-checked: Bite5 reviewed available sources, contacted the restaurant, or performed a documented check.
- Bite5 verified: a higher-confidence status only after Bite5 has a documented verification process for the specific dietary signal.
Dietary and Allergen Limits
Bite5 does not guarantee that a food item is safe for a medical condition, allergy, intolerance, religious requirement, or dietary preference. Menus, ingredients, suppliers, and preparation methods can change. Cross-contact may occur.
Users should always confirm current menu, ingredient, kitchen, halal, gluten-free, vegan, low-sugar, and allergen details directly with the restaurant before ordering or eating.
Corrections, Claims, and Removal Requests
Restaurants can request corrections, claim a listing, submit updated information, dispute a tag, or ask us to remove non-essential listing content by emailing hello@bite5.com. We may ask for reasonable proof of authority before changing claimed restaurant information.
We prioritize corrections for inaccurate contact details, closed locations, wrong addresses, dietary information, allergen-sensitive claims, ownership disputes, and requests involving privacy or intellectual-property concerns.
Paid, Featured, and Creator Content
Bite5 does not currently sell paid listings or sponsored placement. If paid placement, comped meals, affiliate links, creator campaigns, or sponsored content are introduced, Bite5 will label material relationships clearly and update the relevant terms.
Map and Data Attribution
Bite5 currently uses OpenStreetMap tiles in the map preview and displays OpenStreetMap attribution on the map. If Bite5 uses other map, place, geocoding, or listing providers later, provider attribution and usage restrictions must be respected.
Takedown Contact
For listing corrections, copyright concerns, trademark concerns, privacy concerns, claim disputes, or removal requests, email hello@bite5.com with the restaurant name, URL if available, requested change, reason, and your relationship to the business or content.
